Best wishes for the festive season
From the NTEU Victorian Division
The officers and members of the Victorian Division of the National Tertiary Education Union hope that you and your loved ones enjoy a safe and happy festive season, and share a fruitful 2010.
Like many in our community, we at the NTEU will take some time to contemplate what we can do to help the disadvantaged in the community and around the world.

Meetings of members have just concluded on the City and Bundoora campuses and the following motions were passed with a clear majority:
1.The branch acknowledges the commitment of members who have participated in industrial action over the course of the campaign.
2.This meeting of members endorses settlement on the terms proposed.
3.This meeting agrees that the ban on the transmission of results now be lifted.
Members who have been holding the ban on transmission of results should upload/transmit results as soon as possible.
Congratulations to all
In Unity

Legally protected industrial bans on the transmission to the University of student assessment results are now in place at several universities across the country. Bans are currently on at Curtin University in WA, and Uni SA and Flinders in SA.
The purpose of the ban on transmission of student results is to impact on university administration. There is no intention to cause any serious harm to students. Students who believe that they will suffer undue hardship because of the bans should apply to the exemptions committee at their university.
