UPDATE (16 December 2009)
NTEU bans lifted following significant progress in negotiations
Dear members,
As a result of significant movement in our negotiations with management, the bans on the transmission of results are lifted, effective immediately (16 December 2009).
The determined and effective action of members who have banned the transmission of results (and all those who have participated in this campaign throughout this year) have achieved significant movement including:
- an offer of a 16% pay rise over the life of the agreement, with some back pay for this year
- classification reviews that will only be implemented after negotiation with the NTEU
- progress on workload issues through monitoring staff-student ratios
The parties have agreed to recommence negotiations on a series of outstanding issues (including the final pay increase) in the week commencing 18 January 2010 with a view to reaching agreement by 12 March 2010.
The memorandum of understanding which includes details of progress and outstanding issues can be downloaded for members’ information.
The Committee is meeting is meeting on Thursday 17 at 12.30 in Room G20 Alan Gilbert Building. Interested members are welcome to attend. There will be further meetings early next year. (The protest planned for Thursday 17 is now cancelled).
Once you have filled out the exemptions form, we will contact you with more information about results bans, including resources to help you communicate with students, advice on your rights and entitlements when dealing with your supervisor or manager, and a frequently asked questions.
