Why staff are on strike

It’s time for university management to negotiate seriously.

NTEU Public Rally
Thursday 21 May, 1pm
State Library, cnr La Trobe & Swanston Sts

Staff are striking for improved working conditions, including:

  • Better workload arrangements, to reduce strain on staff;
  • Improved job security, with more ongoing jobs;
  • Real career paths for casual and sessional academics; and
  • Restoration of workplace rights removed by the former Howard Government (with a policy known as HEWRRs).

Our claims are reasonable and affordable.

Universities have no more excuses.
